What Are the Requirements for the Tourist Visa Exemption?

  • Valid Passport: Must have at least 6 months left before expiry and at least one blank page for entry stamps.
  • Eligible Nationality: Your passport must be from a country on the official exemption list. Check eligible countries at Tourism Authority of Thailand or the Royal Thai Consulate LA.
  • Proof of Onward Travel: Most travelers are asked to show a flight ticket or booking leaving Thailand within 30 or 60 days, depending on your exemption period.
  • Proof of Funds: You may be asked to show cash or bank statements (typically at least 10,000 THB per person or 20,000 THB per family).
  • Arrival Card: Complete the simple immigration arrival card (TM6) given on your flight or at the border.
